The old town of Comacchio retains its original appearance and is crossed by a network of channels that distinguish it as the lagoon city.
The coast of Comacchio, which stretches for 25 kilometers, is sandy, consisting of vast beaches of fine golden sand, are the famous seven Lidos of Comacchio Lido di Volano, Lido delle Nazioni, Lido di Pomposa, Lido degli Scacchi, Porto Garibaldi, Lido degli Estensi and Lido di Spina, born after the '50s, and today a tourist destination of great importance.

Comacchio and its valleys are the "heart" of the Delta, the green heart of the Adriatic coast between Chioggia and Catholic. The Comacchio is a real open air museum and is one of the most important existing lagoon in Italy and Europe. The activities are related to tourism, commercial fishing, the vallicoltura and in the past, the production of salt.
Comacchio is appreciated, in terms of tourism, the pristine beauty of architecture: canals, ancient palaces and monumental bridges (the most characteristic of which is called the Trepponti) give it the appearance of the centers of the Venetian lagoon as Chioggia reason is that Comacchio to the nickname "Little Venice".
