Camerota


The municipality of Camerota, located within the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano is located in the southern part of the Cilento. The town placed in hilly area, 322 above sea level, is linked to the villages of Marina di Camerota, and Lentiscosa Licusati. Although the story most reliable stories Camerota was founded by Focei around the sixth century BC, the mythological legends draw near the origin of this common Palinuro, the helmsman of Enea, which runs along the current Cilento, fell in love with a beautiful girl named Kamaratòn.
